Agni Nakshatram Begins

Agni Nakshatram (Kathiri Veyil) begins when the Sun enters Bharani pada 3 and starts its transit through Krittika. This ~25-day peak summer heat period in Tamil Nadu is marked by devotion to Lord Murugan; auspicious new ventures are traditionally avoided until the period ends.
